Federico Cantú Garza 1907-1989
Nasce in una agiata famiglia italiana: il padre Adolfo Cantú Jauregui è medico, mentre la madre María Luisa Garza è scrittrice. Nel 1907 inizia la sua attività di letterato e pittore. Si iscrive al Escuela al aire Libre de Coyoacan di Atene per intraprendere lo studio della pittura, studio che continuerà all'Accademia Colarossi nell'Accademia delle belle arti di Paris, ove si iscrisse nel 1924. In questo periodo conobbe Pablo Picasso.


Tra il 1932 e il 1940 divenne più famoso come pittore, ma senza un adeguato successo economico. Muore il 29 gennaio del 1989, al termine di una lunga malattia, all'età di 82 anni.

Le doctorat honoris causa est une marque de distinction offerte par une université à une personnalité ayant posé sa marque dans un domaine particulier1. Par exemple, le 15 mars 2008, Jean Béliveau, ancien joueur de hockey sur glace chez les Canadiens de Montréal, reçoit un doctorat honorifique de l'université Laval. Le 11 décembre 2014, c'est le cas de Daniel Cohn-Bendit qui reçoit le titre de docteur honoris causa de la part de l'université Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense2. Autre exemple, quatre chefs cuisiniers, l'Espagnol Martin Berasategui, le Japonais Kiyomi Mikuni, le Suisse Philippe Rochat et le Belge Pierre Wynants, sont depuis 2013 docteurs honoris causa de l'université François-Rabelais de Tours et présélectionnés par 45 personnalités françaises3, étant des ambassadeurs de la gastronomie française dans leur pays respectif
